In response to the call of Wuxi Civilization Office, in the afternoon of March 11, the Huiquanshan Community, Huishan Sub-district, and the CCP Branch of Wuxi Radio & TV Center jointly held a paired volunteer service activity themed “hand in hand to build a civilized homeland”, and Wuxi Kaiyi Hospital especially dispatched a medical and nursing team comprising Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology led by Moling Xu, Chief of the Internal Medicine Department to participate in this activity and entered Junhe Jiayuan, implementing the concept of civilization and health with practical actions.
Dedicating Love to Warm Wuxi under the Pandemic
At 2 pm, the spot was crowded with residents attending the free health consultation. The medical and nursing staff of Wuxi Kaiyi Hospital distributed health knowledge brochures to residents coming and going, calling for residents to develop a healthy and good lifestyle and habit and publicizing the concept of focusing on prevention and combining prevention and treatment.
Seeing that the attendants were mostly senior citizens on the spot, Dr. Moling Xu, Chief of the Internal Medicine Department of Wuxi Kaiyi Hospital provided free blood pressure and blood glucose testing for each of them coming here for consultation. Dr. Xu remarked that nowadays the harms of chronic diseases, especially geriatric diseases were worthy of the attention from the whole society, so as to achieve early treatment, early prevention and early compliance, and that it was very important to make the people improve their understanding of diseases.
“We are stricken in years and are not so surefooted as before. We find it too inconvenient to go to hospitals to seek medical advice. But today, the doctors and experts provide consultation in our community so that we can consult them at home. They not only provide free checks, but also give us some guidance on health. That’s fantastic!” said Granny Wang who lives in Junhe Jiayuan, smiling.
This commonweal activity on health was so convenient for the people to seek medical advice at home that they could enjoy free medical services with no need to leave their houses. Meanwhile, by providing fullhearted, earnest, meticulous and professional services, the medical and nursing staff sent warmth and health to the community residents, which not only enhanced the awareness of healthcare among them, but also allow them to really experience the love and care from the society, and was thus well received among the community residents!
In future, our hospital will carry on more commonweal activities on health, enter more communities, benefit more residents, implement the spirit of “people-orientation” among communities through our practical action and guarantee the healthy lives of residents in a better way.
